What would a balanced life be?
We go about our daily lives automatically and spontaneously without even realizing when things get uneven. Feeling the need to maintain our balance, we dream of an ideal state of living, which often seems like an impossible or unreachable destination. So in that sense, it's worthwhile to keep asking what would balance mean to us on a personal level. Defining balance is relative to us as individuals and therefore differs from one person to another. It is basically an understanding of our needs and desires in alignment with our life purpose. It is essential to be aware of the life we want to lead and the purpose we are here to fulfill. Balance becomes an unfolding process of creating harmony, and handling or creating essential changes. In my life, balance means the process of exploring my sense of wholeness as a unique individual. It is no more just applying general criteria of what my life should be. Looking at balance from this perspective has liberated me and shifted my attention from comparison with others, to inward growth and dynamic exploration of my unlimited potential that is unfolding every step of the way. It can be compared to climbing a ladder – being aware of other steps but focusing on the step on which I am currently placing my foot. It becomes a delicate, yet enjoyable, expansive movement that leads me on my path, with content and peace of where I am at the moment.
