"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
- Albert Einstein
Albert Einstein knew that in order to change our reality, we need to change our perspective. What we know - and therefore act on as beliefs - creates the reality that we are experiencing. Any desired change or transformation is initiated first from within and is therefore manifested in our life experiences.
Most of us have been raised to believe that we need to work hard to fulfill our desires and in most cases, that is what we experience. But, if you change your perception by replacing this belief with another that brings different results, you will shift your reality. Setting your intentions is the first step: "I am the knowledge, I am the presence", "I aspire to grow and evolve to the highest possible quantum level, with so much ease and peace" or "I allow the fullness and presence of God's perfect love".
The Attitude of learning
In order to understand why we pass through certain experiences repeatedly, we need to approach them with an attitude of learning to trigger changes in our lives. Start by asking yourself some questions:
- Why am I having this experience?
- What is my responsibility in what is happening?
- What is the learning here?
- What is the gift beyond this experience?
An example of some recurrent experiences we pass through could be constant feeling of not being appreciated in the workplace or within our own families no matter how hard we try.
Reflecting genuinely on these questions could lead us to the realization that it is we who constantly seek approval and appreciation from outside, while neglecting the value of feeling fulfilled from the inside. This awakening might also lead to learning more about our own expectations and that such repeated experiences of disappointment actually stem from our own feelings.
Learning is trans formative
Learning is a lifelong attitude and a tool for transformation, growth and personal power. It takes us through our blocks into the true essence of our being - the diamond within. We then become the masters of our change and the ones responsible for creating different realities. It is a great empowering shift of focus from outside blame into an inner sense of positive responsibility. Honoring as life makes us aware of our experiences as life lessons that bring conscious changes.
The dynamic of learning
What we need to understand is that both bad and good experiences present themselves as an integral part of our learning curve. The dynamic of learning involves unlearning. It is only though our experiences that we are urged to unlearn or replace certain perspectives or beliefs with new ones. This learning process always starts with acknowledging the way we usually judge what is happening.
Accepting the dark side
Accept your wholeness by facing qualities about yourself that you may normally reject. Instead of suppressing qualities such as anger, greed, control, manipulation, violence, ugliness, weakness, abusiveness or unkindness, among others, lifelong learning calls us to embrace the dark side.
In his book "Powerful Beyond Measure" - Nick Williams shares with us: "We may long to live in the light, but to do so we must integrate that which we have hidden away. We must be willing to continually expose and explore the hidden aspects of ourselves."
Wise up!
Living life with such a learning attitude brings in us tolerance and acceptance of others and ourselves. It dilutes our internal conflicts and enables us to maneuver through the outside ones. Such an attitude is paramount for nurturing our wisdom. Not only do we learn and grow through our own experiences, but we also have important lessons to share with others, and will be able to provide help, support and insights in extending our contribution to those who need it.
